The lecture will give an overview of the scientific area of strategic management and the most important techniques and methods in strategic management. The knowledge and corresponding methodology of strategic management will be presented and studied within the seminar and deepened with business cases. Business Simulation Game LUDUS

LUDUS for WINDOWS is a Business-Simulation where two up to six joint-stock companies engaged in the same line of business are competing in three markets. All companies are being confronted with the same business cycles, developments of the business line as well as market trends in situations close to reality. At the start of the game, each company is handed over to a „fixed term board of directors“. The purpose of the game is to develop using different business and economics analysis and team work skills.

Development of enterprise strategy and implementation of the strategy in an international context are done as teamwork. Decisions are made based on limited information and outcome of enterprises is dependent on other players decisions. Acquired skills from different fields of business disciplines (marketing, management, accountancy, financial management, strategic management) will be employed comprehensively. Teamwork skills development has important role in the game.

This e-learning module is produced to help students to understand the logic of the game, prepare for the lectures and refresh the basic knowledge about enterprise management. This is a supporting tool, in order to finalize the subject and earn the credit points it is essential to took part of the seminars and play the game in a group.
