TSI offers various programmes in Bachelor, Master and PhD study levels in Aviation, Data Analytics, AI, IT, Robotics, Logistics, Computer Engineering and Electronics, and Business. Further details about study programmes at every level of study, can be found here.

There are several programmes in TSI offered in Distant study mode, one Bachelor’s level and three Master’s degrees. Find out more information and list of the programmes available in the Distant study mode by the link.

TSI has 2 intakes:

Summer intake – is the main intake at TSI, which is normally opened in Spring and closed in September. Studies start in September, along with the Welcome week events.

Winter intake – the shorter list of study programmes is available for applications from September as well. Winter intake closes in February of next year, along with the study process. 

Distant mode students can start their studies throughout the whole year.

Acceptable level of results (%)*

  • World countries – 70%
  • India – 65%
  • CIS countries – all marks positive

* for BSc degree applications grade in Mathematics should be not less than acceptable level of results in the exact region.

TSI accepts the following International certificates, confirming B2 level of English language knowledge:

For applicants from Latvia:

If you choose to study in English and the result of the centralised examination (CE) in English is lower than 55%, you will be expected to undertake another English test provided by the TSI. 

For International applicants:

  1. Online tests: in English, additionally – Maths or Physics if it is required to apply for a specific programme.
    Tests should be passed by the student in 5 days after the credentials are provided.

  1. Interview with TSI Admission team. Is hosted in Zoom or Skype, to check student’s communication skills in English, motivation, and basic knowledge about Latvia.
    Please, note that the interview will be recorded.
  2. AIC evaluation of student’s educational documents. Applicable for all the educational documents, received out of Latvia.

PhD applicants have to prepare a PhD research proposal essay and they will have an exam on the Faculty scheduled by the programme’s coordinator.

All the entry tests are organised in on-line mode by TSI once the registration fee is received.

To be accepted on the selected programme all the tests should be successfully passed and a positive AIC decision should be received.

You can receive the Conditional Admission Letter after the successfully passed test and interview and the final admission letter after a positive AIC decision.

Visa requirements to enter Latvia depend on the student’s citizenship. Citizens of EU/EEA have the right to reside in Latvia without a residence permit or visa. Nevertheless, they have to apply for a registration card in the Office of Citizenship and Migration Affairs in Latvia.

Citizens of Non-EU/EEA are required to have a visa and residence permit to enter Latvia. Please refer to the website below, provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia: https://www.mfa.gov.lv/en/entry-latvia

You can receive a Residence Permit on a study basis. 

A residence Permit decision is issued for the whole study period duration with several extra months. 

Residence Permit cards are provided for 1 year and should be renewed each year. The study department assists the students with the Residence Permit renewal procedure.

EU citizens may work in Latvia without a work permit, but it is the responsibility of the student to make sure that work does not affect their studies. 

Non-EU students with Temporary Residence Permit (TRP) cards have permission to work:

  • 20 hours per week for Bachelor’s degree students 
  • 40 hours per week for Master’s degree students 
  • without time limitation for PhD degree students

An application will only be processed after the registration fee payment is received on a TSI bank account.

After your registration is completed and you are conditionally accepted – you will receive a registration fee invoice with the billing info (requisites) and you can cover it through Internet bank or by visiting a bank’s branch offline.

The tuition fee for the study year has to be paid in full (one instalment).

Deposit fees are applicable to International students, depending on the country of citizenship.

The amount of deposit to be covered can be found in Admission page, Study Deposits* section.  

To be enrolled in the programme tuition and deposit fees in estimated amounts have to be covered in full.

Latvian students can terminate the agreement in 3 days before the semester start date (indicated in the agreement) and receive the refund of tuition fee.

International students can terminate the agreement in 2 weeks before the semester start date (indicated in the agreement) and receive the refund of tuition and deposit fees (if applicable).

In case of Visa/Residence Permit rejection, International students can receive the refund of tuition and deposit fees (if applicable).

Registration fee is non-refundable, in any case.

TSI recommends several accommodation facilities. Information on rental apartments and dormitories is available here.

Students are personally responsible for booking their accommodation.
