Science – a step into the future!
On April 23 and 24, at the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI) for the first time a scientific-practical conference “Euro-Asian Transport Corridor. Trends. Strategy. Practice” was held.
Guests of the conference were – professor Gunnar Prause from Tallinn University of Technology, professor Ramūnas Palšaitis from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Olga Nežerenko and Ott Koppel from Tallinn University of Technology, Svetla Draganova Tzvetkova and Petya Vaskova Hristova from University of National and World Economy, Sławomir Augustyn from National Defence University and others.
The participants discussed the problems and achievements in the field of planning, development and management of transport infrastructure, transport integration, urban logistics, intermodal transport systems, freight transport, railway systems, management and administration in the field of transport and other equally interesting areas.
On the very same days, the Institute also held an international conference “Science and Technology – a Step into the Future” in which young scientists, students and doctoral students had an opportunity to present their studies, find a platform for cooperation with colleagues and the likeminded, strengthen professional relationships, develop and improve communication skills, and gain valuable experience of participation in discussions in areas such as electronics, computer science, economics, management science, transportation, logistics, pedagogy and psychology.
Among the participants of the conference there were many young scientists, PhD students, postgraduates and students of Latvia’s and foreign higher education institutions involved in technical, economic and social research.
This year also students Sabina Zhevtkevich, Nikita Tretinko and Alexander Simkov from Riga 80th secondary school took part in the conference. They made a presentation on the topic “Setting of Network Servers and their Performance Analysis”.
