Presentation of TSI MSc „Aviation Management” and an aviation consultant Rigas Doganis lecture
On December 11, in the VIP terminal conference hall of Riga International Airport, Transport and Telecomunnication Institute (TSI) held a presentation of the new professional master’s study programme „Aviation Management”. For the first time in Riga, a special guest – world’s class aviation expert and author of numerous books – Rigas Doganis – took a part in the event with his lecture „Future Perspectives and Challenges for Global Aviation Development”.
One of the main goals of the event was to introduce guests with a MSc programme „Aviation Management”, created in close cooperation with leading industry experts. (More information about the programme „Aviation Management” on our web page: http://www.tsi.lv/en/content/aviation-management).
During the second part of the event, TSI organised the occasion to host a world-class aviation expert Mr Doganis lecture „Future Perspectives and Challenges for Global Aviation Development”.
During the lecture, Mr Doganis highlighted the strategy of low-cost carriers and changing consumer behaviour. Explained how the airline profits of are affected by the fall in fuel prices in 2014 and what should to be taken into the account for the secondary and regional airports.
Also, outlined how the rapid growth of low-cost carriers will change the long haul market. During the seminar Mr Doganis explained the developments in the aviation sector and revealed the key to success of Europe’s largest low-cost airline Ryanair.
The event brought together various experts of the industry, including representatives of the Riga International Airport and Liepaja International Airport. Some of the guests received Mr Doganis latest book „Flying Off Course: Airline Economics and Marketing”.
