Let's Make the World a Kinder Place!
On Saturday, 20 December 2014, a wonderful Christmas charity event for orphans from the orphanage Ziemeļi will be held in Lecture Room 130 of the Transport and Telecommunication Institute (TSI).
This remarkable organisers’ idea – to arrange a Christmas holiday for children and collect New Year presents, – has resonated in the hearts of our students, colleagues and administration.
We are inviting you to make a small contribution to the act of kindness – give a present to children who feel so much need for emotional warmth and concern!
You can bring and leave your present in Classroom 102 during the whole next week!
The children are aged between 3 to 18 years, therefore you may bring toy blocks and puzzles, a small construction set, toy cars and dolls, and even clothing or footwear (things may be second-hand, but clean and not worn-out).
Please do not bring soft toys; children will be very glad to get a useful present – this is a request of the orphanage's administration.
Everyone may visit this event. The celebration will begin at 11.00 and will last until 19.00.
Children will be surprised by competitions, will have a possibility to bake pepper cookies and, of course, a decorated Fir-Tree and presents will take their breath away!
Project organisers are a group of volunteers, whereas assistance in the organisation has been rendered by TSI. No matter how different we are in terms of interests, age and education, we all share the common desire to cultivate kindness!
We all love and dream about presents, but not everyone gets them.
We hope you'll find it in your hearts to help!
Together, we can make this world a kinder place!
