The article presents research and analysis in the enterprises of logistics chains. The paper demonstrates the main findings of the investigation. Theoretical investigation has been done in order to measure the relations between enterprises, suppliers and customers. Whatever the nature of the logistics chain is, the problem for the company remains how to deal with suppliers. This paper focuses on the assessment of supply chains and forecasting influence possibilities. The guidelines describe supplier selection. The methodology presented allows the assessment of suppliers.

To manage perfectly an efficient and effective supply chain of continuous and undisturbed flow of goods is needed. To achieve this identification, location and sensor technologies must be implemented to generate state data of the logistics objects. However, the amount of information overstrains the operational logistics planner and the information systems have to face enormous data streams. Data mining methods are useful to cope with such big data streams, and they are well developed in the literature. But these methods are not often applied to logistical state data. Without knowledge of the processes, the results of the algorithms cannot be understood. Therefore, the objective of this work is to introduce a general concept to model and to analyse logistical state data, in order to find irregularities and their causes and dependences. This work shows that it is possible to use data mining methods on logistical state data to filter irregularities and their causes.

Investigating the impact rendered by financial capacity and its diagnostics efficiency upon the results of a company’s activity is the most important problem of modern management. The standard conventional methods and tools of the financial analysis have remained in the past. The top management of a modern company ever more often reflects on the alternative approaches for an assessment objectively capable of reflecting both the current situation and the near-term threats jeopardizing the company’s activity. One of such approaches is the business value appraisal method from the time perspective. The advantage of this approach is leading properties inherent in the indices. This article studies the growth rate-related changes of activity, by separating the analysis of events and trends. The polarity of those categories has been considered as a fundamental principle of the analysis of growth rate, financial instability, and discounted cash flow.

A problem of distinguishing between frontier heterogeneity and inefficiency is widely acknowledged in benchmarking. This article deals with RFID technology, which is a part of automatic identification and data capture. We developed a wave propagation model and base on this, we developed a UHF RFID slim antenna. Article describes theoretical background about RFID antennas and electromagnetic waves. Consequently we are coming with the new access, that is, using the UHF RFID "Slim" antenna that eliminates disadvantage of inlays in the case if they are close or inter lap each other. The article describes scheme of identification of postal mails through UHF RFID slim antennas. Nowadays the identification of postal mails in postal sector is carried through barcodes and optical character recognition. In this article we would like to specify, how can be the postal mail items identified in the transmission process by RFID technology. All theoretical findings are verified by measurement in our AIDC laboratory that is located at the University of Žilina. Finally a method to perform our theoretical model and the identification performance was close 100%. It is an improvement for more than 30% in comparing the results reached with typical inlays. The results of our research bring the new point of view and indicate the ways using of UHF RFID technology in post applications.

Problems of the data processing improving for pavement structure evaluation with help of subsurface radar probing are discussed. Iterative procedure to solve the inverse problem in frequency domain is used on the base of the genetic algorithm. For improving of data processing effectiveness it is proposed to use a modified genetic algorithm with adaptation of search range of pavement parameters. The results of reconstruction of electro-physical characteristics for model of five-layered pavement structure are presented.

One of the main problems in urban areas is the steady growth in car ownership and traffic levels. Therefore, the challenge of sustainability is focused on a shift of the demand for mobility from cars to collective means of transport. For this purpose, buses are a key element of the public transport systems. In this respect Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) systems help people change their travel behaviour towards more sustainable transport modes. This paper provides an assessment methodology which evaluates how RTPI systems improve the quality of bus services performance in two European cities, Madrid and Bremerhaven. In the case of Madrid, bus punctuality has increased by 3%. Regarding the travellers perception, Madrid raised its quality of service by 6% while Bremerhaven increased by 13%. On the other hand, the users´ perception of Public Transport (PT) image increased by 14%.

Factors, which determine the structure and the parameters of secured information-telecommunication system, have been identified. The concept of mathematical modelling of secured information- telecommunication system has been defined. Optimisation factor and criterion of information- telecommunication system have been proposed. Equations of sensitivity, which differ from the known ones by taking into account small changes in the internal parameters of the system under the influence of external factors, are clarified.
